The Joy of Christmas!

(I wrote this in November and forgot about it!!!)

Christmas is upon us... Well, at least in my mind it is!

What I love about Christmas is the atmosphere. It seems to me everyone looks more happy and cheerful around this time of year.

I know life can be stressful, but I tend to more easily forget about my worries during December!
Now this can change from a second to the next, especially if I over think it, but in general, I do think it's a much more happy season!

The music, the advent calendars, the beautiful yet awful snow (let's not think about that too much), the food, the family, the excitement I get when giving a gift to someone, and we CANNOT forget about vlogmas and the exceptionally busy YouTube uploads!

That's why I like December, simply because it's full of happy things which make me forget about the awful.

Remember that if you have a low budget, the absolute best thing to do is to make something creative, something sentimental that will make the person you are giving to feel happy. It's never about the amount you spend, it's about the time and effort you put into it!

I'd much rather receive a scrapbook filled with pictures of the both of us than a piece of expensive jewellery.

Don't worry too much, you'll get everything sorted eventually, but never wait till the last minute. I know it's easy to procrastinate (speaking from personal experience), but you'll be glad you got it done beforehand when you realize you wouldn't have had time anyways.

Have fun and stop worrying! Spend more time with those you care about, and those who care about you.

Cringe Cringe Cringe

I just wanted to share a funny story with all of you... And I do realize this has nothing to do with me, other than the fact that I was there, but I'd like to share it anyways!

I was waiting for the bus with 3 other people. And I know you might laugh, because a lot of people do, but I have a blackberry, and one of the guys I was with was exceptionally making fun of me for having a work phone. I make fun of myself, but this is an important part of this story.

One of the three was flipping his phone up into the air and it fell on the ground... It was bound to happen eventually. He picked it up... This moment is always the most stressful, and it was the same as before. One crack horizontally through the middle, with the exception of a tiny, miniature little crack to the edge, which he had just created. This was no big deal and we were all relieved...

Then, out of nowhere, another of the three (the one who was making fun of me) threw his phone directly onto the pavement and said, and I quote, "iPhones 5s never break"... I'm staring at this phone, screen towards the pavement, and I'm just there thinking there's no way that this phone has not been absolutely destroyed!

He picked up his phone with no worry in the world, and to his surprised the screen was absolutely shattered! At this point we were all silent! He looked at us and said "it's never broken before; this gives it more character, whatever..." This made me want to cry! He had destroyed a perfectly fine iPhone because; well what it did was really stupid!

And I would pick a decent blackberry over a shattered iPhone any day! I'm pretty sure he regretted his decision and well, it made a great story.

P.-S.: He probably cried when he got home...

A Stroll in a Craft Store

Today, my friends and I decided we would go to our local craft store and do silly goofy things whilst I take pictures. So, I thought I would share these ridiculous pictures with all of you… because why not?!

Firstly we grabbed wooden letters and placed them in a large bouquet of fake flowers.

I then decided to get Mia and Claire to hold those flowers in front of their faces.

We then had a nice chat with these wonderful scarecrows, and as you can tell, the beige one lost its arm.

Mia decided to lick an owl.

Then Mia attacked Claire with a crow.

And Claire attempted to scare Mia with a spider.

Then we found beautiful hats…

And I put a flower in Mia’s hair.

They decided to have a drink.

And finally Claire found the hidden magic books she had been searching for!

That’s all for our adventure. Let me know if you like this sort of thing and I’ll be sure to do more of them. I’ll just finish of with a picture of a plastic pumpkin…

Goodbye!

I Wan't Autumn!

Eeeerrrmygeeeerrrddd!!!

Summer is driving me crazy!

I've never been one to love summer and honestly never been one to love the heat! I don't understand it. When you're hot and sticky, you can't do much about it. When you're too cold, you snuggle up in cosy blankets and sit by a fire with your hot chocolate.

The problem is, when it's summer I want winter and when it's winter I want summer! It's an awful never ending cycle!

I also HATE humidity, and I don't tend to hate many things! If it's humid ANY time of the year... Nope! I don't wan't to be there. Canadian winters are awful BECAUSE it's still humid, humidity means sweat, sweat is water, water freezes in our cold temperatures! Do you see the problem? It's cold and icy because it's humid without the heat!!!

And our summers are so incredibly uncomfortable BECAUSE we're all melting and sticky and... I'm going to say it... Moist and just all over gross!

Honestly though, Canada isn't a bad place, I mean the weather is definitely not the best, but it's not a bad place, and it depends where you live in Canada! The country is the second biggest after all, so there's definitely many places you could live or visit that wouldn't be the same as I'm constantly describing.

In conclusion, yes I'm being fancy, I'm just tired of this disgusting humidity, so if we could just move on to the next season, I am ready to be spooky and colder!!!

Thank you and goodbye!

I Don’t Like Reading…?

I've always been someone who doesn't particularly like to read.

Although I wish I did, reading just isn't the most enjoyable thing in my opinion.

I've always been this way. Reading just isn't my thing. I do because I have to, and I do because I know I should, but it never been the easiest task.

I wish I liked reading more than I do and I wish I read more, but it isn't as easily done as said.

When I read I look forward to finishing the book, I look forward to the next chapter and I pay attention to the page numbers.

Someone who loves reading gets disappointed when they're done their book and wishes they hadn't read it as quickly.

I read incredibly slowly because I just get distracted. The book never seems to be interesting enough and I absolutely hate that.

It has nothing to do with the fact that I can't read, just the fact that it's incredibly time consuming and in my opinion, just boring.

I haven't read the classics, I wish I had, and I'm trying my best, but there's so much to catch up on!

I told myself I should read the Hobbit and the Harry Potter books, because I want to but I don't somehow. And I've finished the Hobbit, although it took me a month.

You might be wondering what's wrong with me! A month and I can't finish a tiny book. Well, I just never find the time to read, not that I don't have time, just that I procrastinate too much and end up ready only 50 pages per week.

At the rate I'm going, if I want to read all 8 of the Harry Potter books, it'll take me years! I know that's awful! I do want to read them... Kinda.

What can I do? Does anyone else feel this way about reading? If you do, let me know what you do to motivate yourself to read more!

I assume that if you dislike reading, you're not reading this soooo... I guess no one here relates!

The irony…

My Cry Laugh

You meet someone new. You get to know them. You'll make them laugh...

Well, that's exactly it.

The first time you make your new friend truly laugh matters. And their laugh might be typical or insanely ridiculous.

Sometimes they're laugh makes you laugh more, which I guess is always quite fun.

And loads of people can laugh so hard that they start to tear up... But you don't understand.

When you meet me, it doesn't take much to make me cry laugh, unlike most. Because my regular laugh is my cry laugh. Yep!

When you truly make me laugh, I won't be tearing up, I will be full on balling  my eyes and basically hyperventilating so much that I'm completely silent and gasping for air. And that, of course make everyone laugh more, which make me laugh more, which continues repetitively.

Remember, I don't tear up, I cry!

So that little iOS emoji, you know this one:

... That's literally ME!

I really do hope I'm not alone on this one.

So PLEASE comment if you LITERALLY cry laugh.

We'll have a giant... Most likely small, cry laughing party!

We'll call it lrying, you know, laughing+crying... Lrying

Ok, that's enough.

On another note, I'm really sorry I haven't blogged in a while, I went on holiday and completely forgot, and was partially feeling very "uncreative" and lazy.

My Allergies!

So now that spring has officially awaken and summer is just around the corner, my allergies have started again.

I have a variety of allergies (to mostly none deadly things). For example... General pollen allergies (trees, flowers, grass, basically anything outdoors),

Animals (Cats, Dogs... Not sure if I'm allergic to anymore), Dust (so basically all indoor areas... Do you see the irony?) and finally Penicillin (a medicine)! I'm not sure why I have so many allergies.

This means that I'm constantly coughing, sneezing and basically ripping my eyes out. Sometimes people ask what I'm allergic to, and when I'm lazy, I just say I'm allergic to life! I mean indoors, outdoors... Where do I go?

A few years back, I got to school with absolutely red eyes because I had been scratching them so much. Even though we had an exam that morning, my teacher looked at me and just sent me home right away... No hesitations. (Did I maybe find an advantage to this?)

But really, it's awful. My allergies sometimes even effect not only spring and summer, but also fall. And well during winter in Canada, I obviously get ill a few times or something like that. I'm basically sick all year.

And if you're wondering, yes, I take a pill every morning to help with the allergies, but it doesn't work miracles. The only other option would be to get a vaccine EVERY week! That's not going to happen! I'm not afraid of needles... But there is no way I'm doing that!

Do you have allergies? If you do, please let me know in the comments!

I've Had a Cough For 3 Weeks

So, I've had a cough for roughly 3 weeks now...

The first week of this nightmare, I had a horrid cough! I sounded like a dying goose.

goose

Then after a week I still had a sore throat, but I could tell it was getting a bit better.

And I bet you can imagine how annoyed I was after realizing that two weeks had gone by and my throat was still in pain.

I think it's now been over 3 weeks and it's still no better. I mean of course, it's better than my original first week, but it's just as bad as when I was healing.

I went from sounding like a dying goose the first week, to just sounding a bit like a sheep while I was healing, and oh no... Now I sound like a goat, my cough came back.

Goat Pictures, Images

I had a dance recital at school (it was awful), and right when the curtain opened I my throat started to tickle... During the ENTIRE dance, I had to cough. And I'm not sure if any of you have ever tried to hold in a cough and dance at the same time. As soon as the light turned off I ran as fast as I could off stage so I could cough, although the crowd probably still heard me. Oops...

Another group was dancing and I was just sitting off stage, desperately trying to stop coughing, when all of a sudden I coughed and the music stopped. You know how some songs have moments where they're kind of paused and nothing is playing, not for long, just usually a couple seconds. Well, I managed to cough right then. I felt really bad.

I absolutely hate being sick, especially when school is just 4 days from being over!

When will this end? Do I have a vocal problem of some kind? I REALLY hope not!

*cough*

Ya... Ok bye!

I'm Left Handed...

I'm pretty sure only 15% of the population is left handed... And most are guys.

Of course I'm left handed... Because it's the most inconvenient thing for life in general. Everything was originally created to fit right handed people. So I guess, life is harder to adapt to.

Now every left handed person will relate to this because we are a family! We all have to deal with this. And to be honest, I do think it's extremely annoying and hard to work with, especially at school, but really isn't as bad as people portray it to be.

I mean YES your hand will basically be covered in ink or pencil at the end of the day, but I've somehow managed to avoid the horror. Not sure how though, it just doesn't happen as much anymore. But I mean spiral notepads and binders are just hell... No lefty can avoid that!

On another note, I draw... A lot, and in art class, we were supposed to make a drawing full of symbols that basically represent you! Which of course was a lot of fun to create, but then she announced we had to do it in pastel. Literally the enemy of any left OR right handed! You can imagine my hand was completely full of this ridiculously greasy medium.

For the rest of the day my hand felt sticky and disgusting!

And although a lot of things about being left handed sucks, I think it's different and unique, therefore kinda cool.

Are you left handed? Are you part of the fam? Let me know in the comments!

Hurting Myself by Mistake

Now this may sound strange, but I feel like I'm always hurting myself by mistake...

Not major things, just enough for me to think it hurts.

For example, when I stub my toe or bump into a desk. I don't know if I'm only one who constantly bumps into desks at school...?

I swear, I'm so unlucky when it comes to certain things!

My visual art class has metal tables... Yes. And about half a metre from the floor, there is a metal bar... that is, in my opinion, quite sharp. We all sit on stools, so our calves are at the height of these bars. And I don't know what it is, but I always seem to hit my leg on it. And it hurts.

It does this sort of rattle sound when you hit it and it's so loud! And because it's visual art and, of course, it is extremely silent, everyone looks at you!

But because it isn't enough, I always have to move in some other way and hit my leg AGAIN! Never just once, always twice! Just a couple seconds apart.

And to be honest, I've realized that whenever I'm in class, surrounded by a group of people I know... Or strangers, I try to make it as unnoticeable as possible. But whenever I'm alone, stubbing my toe isn't just "stub my toe and walk away", it's stub my toe and make the biggest deal out of it!

Because, of course, when you're alone, you have to make everything as exaggerated as possible.

Do you hurt yourself by mistake? Please let me know!

My Obsession

So although I have my own problems to worry about and things I should probably pay more attention too, like school… I can get pretty obsessed over little things or people.

And when I say people, I don’t mean celebrities (as in actors or musicians) I mean mostly youtubers.

When I really like something, I tend to get a little too obsessed…
In just one week, I ended up watching over 24 hours of just ONE youtuber’s content.

Now you may be wondering if a youtuber even has 24 hours worth of videos… and in most cases, YES!

I watched this entire youtubers main channel videos, second channel videos, gaming channel videos, collaborations and A LOT of live shows that are usually over 1 hour long.

When I found out that this youtuber did live shows, I immediately downloaded the app and created an account.

My life revolves around these idols. They’re my inspiration! They make me happy.

I love how unlike actors, they are real people and not people playing characters. I also love that they are very relatable and easier to actually meet or get to know.

I think it’s insane to look at how far they’ve come since the day they started as just regular beings that probably weren’t expecting any fame to come out of it. Some have made such a big impact.

I really hope that YouTube will still be a “thing” for many years and that someday I can inspire someone as much as they have inspired me.

Being a Perfectionist

We all know everyone is different; everyone has faults or simply just bizarre traits. And mine is by far the fact that I am most definitely a perfectionist.

Every little detail can bother me.

Things like crooked paintings or off centred furniture can sometimes be easily fixed, which I guess isn't too bad, but when I notice things like wooden floors that aren't aligned with the wall or the fact that my bathroom was built slanted... There is absolutely NOTHING I can do!

I can't be the only one to think this way. I can't help the fact that these things bother me.

I am always the first to notice as well.

I'll just be sitting on the couch, when I notice that a picture frame is crooked. I'll get up, change it, sit back down, look at it again, notice it's now tilting the other way, stand back up, change it again... And so on... Until I get it PERFECT!

But that's not all, if I'm playing Sims and I'm adding a window, it HAS TO BE CENTRED! If it isn't, I will change the WHOLE dimensions of the house for it to be.

But then again, this is just one of the many things I have to deal with on a daily basis.

What about you? What do you think?

Why is There Still Snow?

I wanted to write a quick update post. I was trying to figure out what to write about... I looked out the window and it was SNOWING!

Yes, Canada is a bizarre place.

It is officially spring, yet I can't put my coat or boots away!

Last week I thought to myself; finally! Spring is on its way...

I must have jinxed it :( because the following day, it was -27 degrees C

About a month ago, when I got home from school after having walked a while outside trying my best to avoid the wind... (Which by the way is nearly impossible, I tried walking backwards, but the wind was coming all four directions), I looked in the mirror and all of my mascara had smudged on the top of my lid! I looked like a goof...

Every morning on my way to school, I need to wear my scarf, hat and mitts, (not because I want to, just because frostbite isn't pleasant) and every day, on my way home, I have a bag full of just those things. The temperature is confusing and becomes much warmer throughout the day... This sucks! Carrying a whole lot of fluffy jackets and winter essentials is difficult...

I can't handle the cold wind freeze my finger tips and swirl through my hair creating giant knots!!

And just when you think... Yes the snow is melting! It turns into ice during the next 24 hours!

And the worst it that I KNOW once the snow starts to really melt, it will be a nightmare as well!

Last year around mid March, the snow was melting and while walking back from school a car drove by so close to the pavement, the dirty melted snow slush splashed all of my right side :(

When is spring really coming!?

Trying New Things

Hey everyone,

Today I wanted to write a shorter post, not because I’m lazy, just because some topics don’t have as much to write about and sometimes a shorter post is nice.

So I’ve chosen to write about trying new things and to be open minded.

Trying new things, isn’t very difficult.

It can be as simple as trying a new fruit or trying something you remember disliking another time.

For example, I don’t like mushrooms, and a couple months ago, my dad made a stir fry that included mushrooms. I tried, but I still didn’t like it.

What’s the worst that could have happened?

I could have ended up loving it!

As we grow up, our taste changes. By trying new things, we can end up finding out we love things we hadn’t known about or thought we would never like.

Being open minded doesn’t always have to do with foods.

You could be open minded to clothing, scents, hobbies, places or even brands.

I can NOT tolerate vanilla scents. Something about it makes me want to gag. But I try my best to smell it whenever I have the chance so that eventually it stops bothering me.

My 11 year old brother doesn’t like cheese, and hasn’t tried it in years. I know someday he will and who knows how he will react? (I bet he’ll love it)

Being open minded and trying new things can lead you to great realizations.

You could wake up tomorrow and decide you want to dye your hair purple!
It doesn’t even have to be that drastic.

Maybe something simple like trying bananas and Nutella on your pancakes.

A couple months ago I thought that dying my hair would be fun. I think red hair is stunning and I thought dying my hair ombre-brown to a natural red, would look super cool! I had NEVER seen anyone do so and I still haven’t. This summer, I will hopefully dye my hair just like this:

(This is the only picture I found of what I had in mind!)

I think this looks absolutely gorgeous.

Do something different; try something new for a change.

If you need any more advice, feel free to email me or comment down below. I tried to make this post shorter, but I guess I didn’t succeed too well. Sorry about that…

Makeup... yes or no?

Hey everyone,
107 Kate moss lipstick RIMMEL

Today i wanted to post about makeup, and whether or not i was for or against it.

For the longest time I thought makeup was wrong, useless and too much work.

Of course, when I was 6, I loved playing around with lip gloss, especially a sparkly orange one I had.

But at the age of 10 till a year ago, I never really bothered using it.

Though I watched multiple makeup tutorials and loved to roam around shoppers drug mart with Lovely, I thought it was just unnatural; makeup wasn’t something I was interested in. (Lovely= best friend)

And then I turned 13, I loved to go crazy with makeup and do absolutely insane swirls everywhere on my face just for fun.

Lovely and I dance. A couple of months ago, we went to our first performance with our new studio. Because of this, we had to wear a full face of makeup “stage makeup”, and that’s when it all changed. I was open to wearing makeup in public and I finally found a way to cover the nasty pimples I had.

IMG_9439.JPG
01 boing - benefit

I’m not saying that I wear makeup every day or that it’s even necessary.

I just think that it’s nice to feel a little more dressed up from time to time by wearing a thin layer of mascara, some blusher and maybe a nude lip pencil.

IMG_9438.JPG

Don’t get me wrong, I love being able to say that sometimes, I don’t wear makeup and that I feel comfortable with or without it.

Because I see makeup as a tool to compliment your beauty, not to hide your face underneath an inch of foundation.

Should you or shouldn’t you wear makeup, now that’s entirely up to you and you should try both before you decide.

Another thing to keep in mind, is to pick what products work best for you.

Don’t wear blusher if your complexion is naturally pink.

And don’t wear foundation if your skin is flawless.

Curls has very dark hair, therefore very dark eyelashes. Curls doesn’t wear mascara, but curls (I know! How ironic) her lashes. (Curls= friend)

This works for her.

What works for you?

Many people choose NOT to wear makeup because they think they don’t need it or they might be against it, this is completely fine. As I said previously, I thought so too.

If you choose you want to start WEARING MAKEUP and you don’t know where to start, YouTube is one of your best bets.

I can also give you a little advice, like to start with little things. For example, you could start with a little coat of mascara, and then you could try bronzer, blusher and work your way up to the amount of makeup you plan on eventually wearing.

Pay attention to the quantity you apply and ask friends and family you can trust to tell you what they think about it and how it looks.

Sometimes it’s also really fun to go to booths and get them to apply makeup for you.

If you don’t know how to ask your parents if you can wear makeup or not and how much they will allow you to wear, I recommend going to a pharmacy/drugstore with your mom and ask her if you could buy a little makeup.
Hopefully she will let you and you can go on from there.

Maybe if your mom wears makeup and you see she just bought a product or has one in the bathroom, you could ask her about it and if she likes it. You could then ask if she could get you one sometime because you’d be interested in trying it. Things like that will most likely get your parents to be OK with you wearing makeup.

When you first start wearing makeup, people might judge and treat you differently (which is why you have to start little by little). I think the only advice I can give you about that is listen to their comments, take notes (maybe they have tips), and if they’re just being rude and selfish, ignore them. Wearing makeup is your choice and you stand by it.

IMG_9435.JPG
CLINIQUE 01- black

If you are willing to spend more money on makeup, I recommend CLINIQUE and BENEFIT I also suggest any other natural product. (Keep in mind that the products that are more expensive are usually better quality.)

I also need to mention, that i only use sample size mascaras from CLINIQUE, they don't last as long, however, contain less bacteria because it was kept for a shorter period of time.

IMG_9458.JPG
01 boing - benefit

If you know you’re just trying it out and don’t mind using a cheaper alternative, MAYBELLINE and RIMMEL are great.

That’s all I have to say, sorry for the long post… ill try making them shorter when I can. Again, if you need any more information or advice, feel free to comment or email me, I will do my best to help J. Thank you so much for reading.

Auditions & Interviews

Hey everyone,

Since my last post (my intro), I've been thinking.

I know there might only be a few people reading this... Maybe even none... And I have no followers, but that's OK.

I know it might take a while, but eventually I'd love to be able to say I'm helping someone. Someone that might need the help, but doesn't know who to ask.

But that's beside the point. And you’re probably not reading because of that.

It's because you are nervous about your audition or your interview (I am always), maybe you've already auditioned, or you might just have found this post and decided you'd like to read it for future reference.

So, we can all agree that auditions and interviews are very stressful!

I do want to apologize before hand for the number of times I say; interview, audition, stressful or really any other word repetitively.

Anyways, we are finally half way through the school year!

How exiting?

I want the school year to be over and I’m so relived there’s only one half left… but this time of year is so stressful! Especially for those who are planning on changing schools.

IMG_9414.JPG
I understand this has nothing to do with auditions, but I mean it would probably be boring without pictures and I just thought that you know it’s this time of year… ;)
IMG_9422.JPG

So first I want to say that if you have already auditioned or applied for a program or a school, do NOT worry if you haven't been accepted.

It probably has nothing to do with your talent.

You're just not what they were looking for.

And if so, it wouldn't have been the right program/school for you.

If you have not yet auditioned, and you will be getting interviewed, then walk in looking friendly and confident (even if you aren't!).

Though you NEED to remember, it is not that big of a deal...

You won't die! (Which is what I remind myself whenever I'm feeling quite nervous)

Now, auditions are great for multiple reasons.

They prepare you for future situations that will most likely be much more important, therefore much more stressful.

If you practice with people you don’t know very well you will feel more prepared. Not only that, you will look a lot more relaxed and comfortable.

Keep in mind; you don't always walk into a room knowing who everyone is. And if you get extremely nervous when meeting new people... Especially adults (aka me) then practice makes perfect.

And I understand that might sound super lame and everyone knows that, but if you chose to take part in events like this, just for the fun of it, you will eventually walk into the "never before seen" room with absolutely nothing to worry about.

I applied for a school that I want to go to so bad! And the idea of an interview sounded terrifying, but truthfully isn’t. They aren’t trying to scare you away.

I have this friend, (I’ll try not to make this to confusing for anyone) let’s call her Curls. (If you read my intro, I want to let you know that Curls and Lovely are two completely different people) I’m calling her this because of her insanely gorgeous curly hair. And I’m mentioning her because she went to an audition for a high school, came back and told me she was definitely not in the program, she failed and that she regretted even applying!

Then I told her exactly what I told you guys. And it’s worth repeating.

You won’t die! (Even though this sounds completely ridiculous!)

You learn more by making the mistakes.

Now Curls will go to her next audition and be 100% prepared for what’s coming.

And it's OK to be nervous or stressed about auditions and interviews, especially if you've never gone to any, but just know that there will always be more opportunities and once you tell yourself that its no big deal you will realize that you have nothing to worry about.

I also want you to remember that if you go to an audition or interview and just have the biggest feeling you haven't been accepted or chosen it is also OK. You will just be better next time because now you know what you did wrong and what you need to work on.

Ok, well i guess that's it for now. If you need any more info about this, feel free to email me whenever. I’ll do my best to help.

-Vanna xxx

P.-S.: I just received my letter of acceptance in the mail yesterday! Yeeeeeeep!
